Alternatively, a combi-liner such as the DIEMERDYK would complete the 13,000-mile sea voyage between Rotterdam and Vancouver via the Panama Canal in about 2.5 months.
Primarily a refrigerated freighter, the DIEMERDYK also had spacious and luxurious accommodations for 61 passengers.
Three of her six holds were specially equipped for refrigerated cargo and her passenger sections were air-conditioned; both necessary when traversing the tropical Caribbean.
