MS FORT HEARNE
MS Fort Hearne [at dock]
Thursday, July 7, 1949
CVA 447-4639
Pictured at CPR Pier A in 1949, the 380-ton motorship Fort Hearne is completing her maiden voyage from Nova Scotia through the Panama Canal to British Columbia, then around Alaska to Tuktoyaktuk.
After wintering at her homeport of “Tuktuk”, the wooden Fort Hearne was badly holed by pack ice and abandoned in place near Bernard Harbour, NU in 1961.
